Amber, serves as a licensed pediatric speech therapist with over 10 years of experience. She has a passion for helping children overcome speech and language challenges and improving their communication abilities. John specializes in working with children who have developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, and hearing impairments. He is also trained in providing feeding and swallowing therapy.

I am Amber Silva! I attended Calvary Academy from 1st-12th grade. During school I was always the “stay up late and study, yet still make B’s and C’s” student. This led me to believe I was less than, or not “the brightest star” while in school. This instilled in me determination to never quit, and the opportunity to find my own silver lining. That combined with my passion for helping people and loving children, pushed me to pursue a Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

While in college I was diagnosed with ADHD, and had many “AHA!” moments about my learning style.

I finished graduate school in 2015, and went on to specialize in feeding disorders. I served as the clinic evaluator and in leadership roles with an elite pediatric therapy company for 5 years.

 

After becoming a mother, I wanted the flexibility to spend with my family. God brought everything back full circle for me when He opened the door for me to serve the families of Calvary Academy. In 2020, I was among a group that helped implement a program at CA to meet their specialized needs for supported learning. Shortly after, I founded Silver Lining Therapy to provide therapeutic services to these families, and the families in our community.

I am currently a mom of 2 boys, and am learning to find the silver lining of this therapeutic journey as a mother along with many of our families.
